Drywall estimate FAQ
What should a drywall estimate include?
Square footage, board type and thickness, the finish level (Level 4 vs. Level 5 skim coat), texture type, who primes and paints, corner bead and trim details, debris removal, and a signature line. The finish level is the most argued line in drywall — write it down and sign it.
How do I price small drywall patch jobs?
Small patches are priced per job with a minimum service call, not per square foot — the trip and the drying visits dominate the cost. State how many return visits the price includes, so a three-trip patch does not turn into an unpaid fourth trip.
How do I avoid disputes over texture matching?
Photograph the existing texture, name it on the quote (knockdown, orange peel, smooth), and note that a blend into old texture is an approximation, not an invisible repair. Getting that signed before you start ends most 'I can still see the patch' conversations before they begin.
